Even when the smoke in Saskatoon was at its thickest, softball fans young and old flocked to Gordie Howe Park to watch the best softball athletes in the world compete at the highest level.
“You know what, we came here to play ball,” said Dominican Paul McCart. “It don’t get any higher level than this so you’re willing to overlook a lot.”
